World Water Day

We are committed to empowering a globally sustainable future for food – on March 22nd we welcome the celebration of World Water Day. Since 1993, the United Nations has been raising awareness of the water crisis faced across the globe – with 2.2billion people currently having no access to safe drinking water.

Water is an essential natural source for our planet’s survival – water is a crucial element used for transport, manufacturing, electricity and agriculture which in return impacts our food, health and natural environment. With an increasing worldwide demand and population growth, the biggest challenge we face is the unequal distribution of natural freshwater. According to the United Nations, if pressure on natural water continues, 5.7billion people will have limited safe water supplies at least once a month every year by 2050. We believe that our relationship with water needs to change. By raising awareness, we can meet the UN’s Sustainable Development Goal 6 by 2030: a world where everybody has access to safe water and sanitation.

This year the United Nations wants to know what water means to you. With celebrations being held online across the globe, IntelliDigest welcomes you to join the discussion at https://www.worldwaterday.org to share your views and learn more about the consequences caused by water stress. By globally changing our relationship with water, we can deliver sustainable impacts for future generations.
