Food Industry Sustainability Masterclass Structure

Masterclasses

The courses are designed to help you transform knowledge into action, and to help your organisation reach its sustainability goals. Taking any of the courses, however, is just the beginning of the journey. After completing three courses, you will be invited for a consultation process.

Action

Upon gaining the necessary knowledge from the courses, you will be taken through a consultation process that starts with identifying the gaps in your business processes on your journey towards your sustainability goals. Following this, you will be closely working with IntelliDigest to close the identified gaps.

About the Knowledge-to-Action Masterclasses

The IntelliDigest Food System Sustainability Programme is designed to empower you to deliver sustainable impacts in your organisation.

Food sustainability is a major, global challenge for governments, companies and individuals. The next ten years will be a turning point in how we produce, process, store and distribute food sustainably across the world, from farm to fork. Our Food Sustainability Programme focuses on enabling government decision-makers, corporate executives, development institutions and farmers to plan and make the necessary change happen.

Each session is delivered once every month and takes you through the key issues in food system sustainability- policy and practice, food security, food safety, consumer behaviour, Nutrition and dietary choice, food loss and waste reduction strategies, and how to make impacts in this Decade of Action to 2030.

The programme is designed and developed by experts across academia, industry and development institutions and civil society. The courses within the programme can be taken separately, although participants will benefit most if they complete the course.

The programme is delivered online, and combines small-group sessions with one-to-one executive learning support to diagnose the sustainability challenges faced by each participant in their food business once they have completed up to three course.

The executive learning will enable us to use our unique diagnosis process to explore the sustainability gap that your organisation is facing, awarding you a Gap Certificate- a great demonstration that your organisation has taken that bold step to lead in food sustainability.

We will work with you within a period of 2-5 years as applicable to close the gaps and award you a certificate of accomplishment, an internationally recognised achievement as a leader in food industry sustainability.

What The Programme Covers

The IntelliDigest Food Sustainability Programme is structured in seven masterclasses that are accessible at all times with a monthly Mastermind sessions:

  • Life-Cycle Thinking and your Supply Chain for Sustainable Food System

  • Tools for supporting Life-Cycle Thinking
  • The role of Nutrition in achieving a Sustainable Food System

  • The role of Consumer Behaviour in driving Food Sustainability
  • Tech and Data as Enablers for Sustainability in the Food System
  • Food Safety  in a Sustainable Food System
  • Food Security  in a Sustainable Food System

Each course reviews the latest thinking in both policy and practice, and provides specific actions and timeframes to help participants deliver their individual objectives. Each course also provides participants with opportunities to share individual case studies and other resources, and most importantly, build their global professional networks.

We are here to support you at every step in your food sustainability journey.

What You will Learn

The core focus of the programme is to empower participants to identify and define specific food sustainability improvement areas within their countries, organisations and communities. Participants are then provided with structured tools and methodologies to enable them to explore new policy and strategy perspectives. Team assignments and presentations are used to facilitate new thinking, and also to deepen the overall learning experience. Participants will also benefit from the latest research undertaken by IntelliDigest and its university partners, and also ongoing research by each course leader.
