Tivadar Balazs – Business Development Executive

Working in a green job for a company that truly set out to make a difference in our current food systems fills me with pride, determination, and hope that the future will be a good place for people to live in, whilst providing the opportunity to develop my skills. I have always dreamt of making the world a better place in some major way overnight, but with experience I learnt that it is the small, everyday steps that eventually add up to creating a lasting difference. So for me, green jobs feel like my calling.

Isabelle Carlgren – International Marketing Intern

IntelliDigest is at the forefront of the discussions about the unsustainable food system that we have. Being an intern with them has been a true eye opening experience into the problems that exist in the world, yet there is still time to affect it, if we do something now. I have been able to design webinars and training courses to suit that purpose; of educating people of all ages on the problem and how we can save our planet before it is too late. I am really proud of what I have achieved in just 4 weeks with IntelliDigest, have set my own personal goals on how I can minimise issues relating to food waste and I feel like hopefully the courses and webinars can make a difference in someone’s life.

Rebecca Munro – Corporate Communications & Public Affairs Intern

IntelliDigest aims to solve global food challenges and create sustainable impacts for future generations. For part of my MSc Corporate Communications and Public Affairs course I have undertaken a 4-week internship with IntelliDigest. I have been tasked with creating newsletter, blog and web content regarding different food issues and events around the world. Interning at IntelliDigest has allowed me to develop my writing house style, allowed myself to be creative with writing and work with other interns on different projects – with help and guidance from IntelliDigest staff. Interning at IntelliDigest has allowed me to gain the valuable skills needed for the world of work after graduation.

IntelliDigest has been an eye-opening experience for me into the global food issues that are being faced. Before my internship I wasn’t aware of how bad the issue is and how much it’s going to have an impact on the future unless we all make a change. IntelliDigest has made me reflect on how unsustainable my own food wastage/consumption is – with small changes, I can easily reverse this problem and create a more sustainable lifestyle. With small changes everybody has the opportunity to solve the global food challenge and create sustainable impacts for future generations.

David Ogbuehi – Digital Marketing Intern

As a student, being a part of an organisation dedicated to global sustainability has been very intriguing and inspiring. In a short while, I have gained a lot of knowledge and experience by working effectively as part of a team, specifically by redesigning its official website to provide an optimal user experience. Seeing as the world is at a pivotal point on climate change, IntelliDigest has shown up at the perfect time and, with its solutions to food sustainability, will undoubtedly become a significant force in the race to restore the earth.

Angelika Febert – Digital Marketing Intern

Completing an internship at IntelliDigest allowed me to explore the connections between some of the biggest environmental issues we are facing today. Through engaging with content from government organisations, NGOs, and sustainable businesses, I have really started to understand why we must support green initiatives if we want to win the battle against climate change and leave the Earth a better place for future generations.

It has been a great opportunity to learn from team members and collaborate with interns while also developing my specialist skills. Working on the company’s social media channels, my biggest goal was initiating a conversation with the audience, helping them understand the magnitude of the issues and emphasizing the urgency for action and behavioural change. These four weeks have been an eye-opening experience, and I think working for IntelliDigest helped me develop a range of new skills which will be useful for me in the future.

Benley Dcruz – International Business Management Intern

My internship with IntelliDigest has allowed me to apply the learnings I gained as an International Business Management Student of Heriot-Watt University to the best of use. The thought of working for the novel cause of  ‘Ending Food Waste’ has been great in instilling a sense of pride & motivation in me for doing better. Being part of a wonderful team who have been working together in aligning the goals and objectives of the company towards the SDG 2030 adds to the positives. Working on different areas of the business such as market research, content writing, marketing etc. has helped me to explore my skills better and I’m quite happy to be part of the company.

Abdul Hakeem Abdul Rahman – Research Analyst Intern

Doing research for IntelliDigest as an intern, lighted up my mind about the importance of sustainability in the modern world. The suffering of poverty, poor medical and educational systems in some countries while others have all the modern facilities with all the equipment. Sustainable and green development is very important and understanding others who are not aware of it is more essential. Looks like poor countries are looted by huge firms and companies while they have another face in developed countries. On last research, I felt it’s getting improved in african countries with SDG goals and countries and firms are trying to be more sustainable nowadays according to UN and SDG requirements. It’s my great pleasure working with IntelliDigest where I can implement some part of my studies and understanding the importance of  sustainability in the modern world.

Working with IntelliDigest was a very rewarding experience. Although remotely, I got to function effectively as part of a team, set realistic goals and achieve them every week. Working remotely was a bit challenging but by constant communication, I was able to provide solutions by extensive research and past knowledge. During this internship I gained useful interpersonal skills in addition to being a part of an organisation dedicated to global food sustainability and I appreciate the opportunity as the experience was invaluable.

Sabina Jedrzejczyk – Software Engineer Intern

IntelliDigest’s main goal is to eliminate edible food waste and upcycle inedible food waste back into the food system in the most efficient way, and thus help reduce the number of food waste being generated each year. As a software engineering intern at IntelliDigest I not only got to develop my technical and project management skills which are extremely important to my professional career but also work on a solution that will hopefully help bring an end to the food waste problem. It fills me with great joy to think that through this I will be able to help change the world for the better.
