Delivering a Sustainable Food System with Zero Food Waste
The food system is dependent on other systems such as energy, trade, health, water, waste, etc. Hence, a sustainable food system will need to consider many factors to ensure that our societies enjoy continued access to nutritious food, now and for future generations.
Based on world data report, Agrifood production contribute to over 26% of global greenhouse (GHG) emission in the following ratio: livestock & fisheries (31%), crop production (27%), land Use (24%) and supply chain (18%).
As we head to 2050, the global population is estimated to reach around 10 billion by 2050, an increase of over 2 billion people demanding that we adopt a sustainable approach to the way we grow, distribute and consume food – reducing edible food waste and ensuring more people have access to good food.
In recognition of International Day of Awareness of Food Loss and Waste, join us for a free webinar on delivering a sustainable food system with zero food waste.
You will hear from stakeholders across the food system from farm to fork that are tirelessly working to ensure that we have food placed on our plates discuss what they are doing, the challenges that are facing and what the future holds for a sustainable food system with zero food loss and waste.
