“A Mastermind group is the coordination of knowledge and effort, in a spirit of harmony, between two or more people, for the attainment of a definite purpose.” – Napoleon Hill

When a group of minds come together, they essentially create an unseen, powerful force—a mastermind. Masterminds are a means of knowledge sharing among peers, facilitated by an expert in the field with the goal of achieving higher levels of success.

The term Mastermind was introduced by Napoleon Hill when he organised his principles of success in “Think and Grow Rich.”  in 1937

Mastermind groups help to increase each member’s level of success to a greater degree than they would be able to achieve individually. In more practical terms, this usually shows up as expanding your network with like-minded people, getting genuine advice or feedback leading to more direct action, sparking new ideas, learning new things, increased accountability towards achieving set goals, and many more.

Through the Food System Sustainability Programme (FSSP), IntelliDigest offers a range of Mastermind groups with sessions delivered once a month by high-level facilitators who work both within academia and/or industry. More details about FSSP can be found here.

The main focus of the FSSP Mastermind sessions is to discuss major challenges occurring across the food systems in the form of case studies selected by the facilitator or challenges submitted by the group members. All submissions by group members are treated with strict confidentiality by IntelliDigest and handled during the session anonymously with clear background information to enhance contribution. Neither the facilitators nor the participants at the Mastermind know the source of the case study but everyone joins the Mastermind with one common goal to learn and support in solving the challenge through their experience and knowledge.

We take pride in our ability to attract decision makers across the food system from farm to fork to participate in these sessions thereby increasing knowledge sharing across different facets of the food system. Such extensive and diverse sharing of knowledge and opportunity to build supportive networks remain invaluable.

With a strong need within the food system for improved knowledge sharing to address the rapid and dynamic changes across the food system covering environment, technologies, consumer behaviour, policy making, and climate change; the FSSP Mastermind sessions are well positioned in closing existing knowledge gaps and delivering impact.
